Holiday Movies as a Hobby?

 Hi all,

I hope you had a great St. Patrick's day! I love celebrating the holidays any way I can.

When someone mentions the holidays, the mind usually goes to the usual.. Christmas,  new years, ect. There are so many more holidays throughout the year to be celebrated. Something my husband does every holiday, is to put in some effort in finding a movie to watch the night of whatever holiday it is. Tonight, for instance, we chose "The Bachelor Weekend" With the Andrew Scott (Hot Irish priest from Flee bag on amazon). He is my celebrity crush at the moment so its a perfect fit for me. Although it doesn't mention St. Patty's day, its still got Irish actors. Its fun to celebrate the holiday while also supporting other countries great movies!

If you're a movie lover like me,  sometimes you just need to embrace it!

Although St. Patrick's day has come and gone,  there are still upcoming holidays to take advantage of.

 Next up is Easter 🐣

Do you know any good movies for that have Easter in them? I bet not,  and that's because you haven't looked!

Some movies I like to watch for Easter..

• Chocolat-  A traditional French village is stirred up after a whimsical woman (Juliette Binoche) and her daughter (Victoire Thivisol) move in and open a chocolate shop. Their store contrasts greatly with the season of Lent, during which the villagers deprive themselves of indulgences. A pivotal scene of Chocolat takes place during an Easter sermon, when the town's priest tries to reconcile Vivian's shop with the spirit of the holiday.

• Easter Parade- In this 1948 musical, Fred Astaire in his dapper Easter bonnet and Judy Garland in her springtime best sing and dance their way through a slew of legendary composer Irving Berlin hits, a G-rated love triangle—and as the movie’s title suggests—a holiday parade.

• Hop- E.B., short for Easter Bunny of course, is having a bit of a crisis: His father wants him to inherit the candy business but all he wants to do is move to Los Angeles to live out his dream of becoming a rock star. If this CGI film is here to teach us anything, it’s this: Not even the Bunnys are immune to the familial struggles that come with succession and inheritance. But also: You can’t stuff your dreams in an Easter basket. You have to live ’em.

• Steel Magnolias- Admittedly, everyone’s favorite '80s Southern tale about female friendship covers all the seasons and holidays, but the Easter egg hunt scene about midway through the film is unforgettable enough that it deserves a place on this list. That and the fact that it’s one of the best films to revisit when family’s in town. Also worth noting: Lifetime produced a solid remake of the original starring Queen Latifah, Phylicia Rashad, and Alfre Woodard.

Make it a hobby to find new holiday movies to try! It'll give you something to look forward to every month.
